Amy of My Friend Amy started the Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW) Awards and guess what? MyFavoriteAuthor got nominated and is now short-listed in the Best YA Blog category!
Wow.
I mean, W-O-W!
I'm still stunned. Especially when I see the awesome blogs that share the list ... The Story Siren, Pop Culture Junkie, Mrs. Magoo Reads, and Green Bean Teen Queen! These are all awesome YA blogs that I regularly read.
Thanks to all those who nominated MFA (there had to be several in order for the nomination to "stick")! I never thought I'd have a reason to say this, but it is an honor just to be nominated!
Click on the BBAW button below to vote for your favorite YA book blog, along with book blogs in a ga-zillion other categories. There are some seriously super cool blogs out there that have been nominated.
Hurry up and vote because the polls close on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:59 EST.

And while you're online, be sure to check out Aubrey's new blog, My Pile of Books. MyFavoriteAuthor definitely wouldn't be on the shortlist if not for the efforts of Aubrey and PageTurner! You girls rock!

A huge congrats!
I'm so excited for MFA! The only reason why I am blogging is because of this site. I'm so excited for the nomination!
Congrats! U deserve it :)
Congrats! You are amazing! MFA was so much fun to read and be part of!

You've got my vote! :-)
I hope this means you'll come back to blogging quickly :)
We miss you!!
Congrats on your nomination! You do great reviews! I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to how to get young adults to read. I have a Reluctant Reader blog (http://jeffrivera.typepad.com/jeff_rivera/)and would appreciate any input that you have!

Congrats! It's well deserved
@Lenore ... Thanks! I'm trying to figure that out, too!
@Gumbo Writers ... The only suggestion I can think of is to find the right story for the reader. If a story is boring, then the reluctant reader is never going to find the joy of reading. (I know, this is easier said than done.) Just because a book is a classic or is something that everyone else loves doesn't mean that the book is the right story for the RR.
I've heard Shannon Hale & Laurie Halse Anderson both get on their soapboxes about this topic, so maybe check out their websites to see if they have any better suggestions. I've just always loved to read (the books that entertained me, anyway. I hated the books I was required to read for school and rarely read them once I discovered Cliff Notes).
Congratulations!
I'm going to have to stop blog hopping through my Google reader. I miss out on things like blog design. I really like your header!
Congrats!! :)
I just stumbled across your blog recently and I love it! I wish you the best in your recovery!
WOW! Congrats on the recent blog achievement and keep up the good work sis.
Congrats on the nomination!
